Who we are

"Al Bersagliere" is a restaurant located 7 kilometres (4.34 miles) from Rieti, the Italian geographic center. It is placed on a hill and sorrounded by lush and huge olive trees. You can admire Mount Terminillo and all the Sacred Valley mountain range. Fontecolombo is one of the four Franciscan Sanctuaries, where Saint Francis of Assisi wrote The New Rule (Regula bullata) and it is only 3 kilometres (1.8 miles) away from here. The restaurant has been managed by Pentrogari family for 25 years. We serve principally meat as well as pasta and handmade pies, following typical regional recipes. Our food showcases flavoursome meats from our livestock holdings and meats reared in the surrounding countryside.

Shall we talk about our desserts? We serve mousses, panna cotta (simmered cream mixed with milk and sugar and let cool until set), lemon cakes, tiramisù (layered dessert, consisting of alternating layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and sweet mixture of mascarpone cheese, eggs and sugar and finally topped with a dusting of cocoa powder).
